Alfred P. Laderoute, of Southington, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at HOCC at Bradley.
Al was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. on May 18, 1947 to the late Alfred and Rita (Benjella) Laderoute.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Al worked as a butcher at Tops Market for many years.
Al is survived by seven sisters, Mary Ellen Cox (Steven), Rita Casarella, Patricia Conlan (Kevin), all of Southington, Linda Tentoni of Kensington, Michele Pekoske (James) of Florida, Susanne Laderoute and Renee Sego (David), both of Plantsville; four brothers, Charles Laderoute (Diane) of Florida, John Laderoute and Mark Laderoute (Desiree), both of Southington, and Marshall Laderoute of Meriden; two sisters-in-law, Dianna Laderoute of Kensington and Denise Laderoute of Windsor and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his partner of 40 years, James “Jimmy” Meola and his family and children, Christian Meola (Jennifer), Nicole Meola (Jeff) and Madeline, Kaonna, Kory, Ava, Kameron, Nova and Christian; his brothers-in-law, Steven (Teri), Glen, Greg and predeceased by Sharon. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Paul Laderoute and Lawrence Laderoute and his brother-in-law, Michael Casarella Jr.
He will be remembered for his love of cats, friendly squirrels and all God’s creatures. He loved to grocery shop, especially the sales, which is a typical Laderoute trait. He had a wonderful sense of humor; he found that laughter is truly the best medicine. Above all else, Al loved his and Jim’s family with all his heart.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Military honors will be held at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. For online condolences and directions, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
