Andrew J. Regis Jr

Andrew J. Regis Jr., 83, of Southington, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014. He was a devoted and the most loving husband to his sweetheart, Mary (Tormay) Regis for 62 years.

Born in New Britain on November 17, 1931 to the late, Andrew J. and Minnie E. (Doty) Regis Sr., he had been a longtime Southington resident.

After 40 years of service, Andy retired in 1994 from Kelsey Manufacturing of East Berlin. After that he found his "dream job," working part time for Valley Auto in Plantsville. He loved his job and everyone who met him loved him too. Andy made many friends in and out of town, including many of the canine variety at the different places he made deliveries to. He made sure to keep a box of dog biscuits in his truck for his 4- legged friends and they were always happy to see him, eagerly coming out to greet him.

In addition to his wife Mary, Andy is survived by his four children: Andrew G. Regis and his companion Tamara Turner of San Bernardino, CA; Steven Regis of Windham; Susan Ross and her husband David of Bristol and Judy Lunn and her companion Sal Sanford of Southington. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren: Brian Blachowski and his wife Callie of Jacksonville, FL; Cassandra Ross of Oakville, John Lunn of Bristol, Marco Ross of Bristol, Melissa Lunn and Mary Lunn, both of Southington. He also leaves his special little buddy, 2 ½ year old great-grandson, Aiko Lawrence of Oakville. Being the youngest and only boy of seven children, Andrew was predeceased by his six sisters: Vicky, Helen, Eleanor, Mary, Vivian and Shirley; his 2 infant sons, John and Brian, and his infant granddaughter, Kimberly Ross.

Andy's kind, loving and generous nature will surely be missed by everyone who knew him, not to mention his sense of humor and all of his corny jokes. One will not be able to think of Andy without a smile on their face and more than likely, a little chuckle too.

Main St., Plantsville on Friday, December 19, 2014 with a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville, CT. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home.
