Ann (Turek) Nelson, 85, of Southington, CT passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 20, 2024. She had been the beloved wife of the late Allan M. Nelson for 41 years.
Ann was born on September 20, 1938 in Southington, CT to the late Edward and Helen (Novak) Turek. Her family moved to Yonkers, NY in 1949 and she resided there until 1967.
Ann worked as a medical secretary for several physicians before becoming a registered nurse. Eventually, she retired from Dr. Robert W. Elwell’s office after 22 years of service. Ann was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Southington. She was a very spiritual woman with a strong faith who was devoted to her family. She took great interest and joy in their experiences and accomplishments. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Thomson (James) of Plantsville and her sons, Douglas Nelson (Tari) and Scott Nelson (Maria), both of Southington, 8 grandchildren, Jonathan Nelson (Kandice) of Southington, Christopher Nelson (Annaleigh) of Southington, Melissa Major (Nathan) of Southington, Sarah Baer (Daniel) of Salem WI, Kayla Thomson (fiancé Nicholas) of Branford, Jessica Shanley (Kieran) of Seymour, Ashley (Fiancé Andrew) of Wallingford, and Ryan Nelson (Katerina) of Wolcott and 5 great-grandchildren, Adeline, Amelia, Carter, Grant and Maverick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the Mass from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
