Listen to Obituary

On August 13, 2026, Armand E. La Montagne, of Southington, was escorted by the angels to the Heavenly gates, met by the apostles, and is now in the arms of Jesus. Armand was born in New Britain on February 4, 1935, son of the late Viola (Charland) and Gerald A. La Montagne. He attended New Britain High School where he met and fell in love with his late wife, Grace (Constantino) La Montagne, and for 71 years they shared their lives together.

Armand was dedicated to faith all of his life, starting in his youth as a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in New Britain where he served as an altar boy and continued at Mary Our Queen Church in Southington where he was an Usher and generously helped others through his service to the church. In 2018, Armand was awarded with the Archdiocesan (of Hartford) Medal of Appreciation. He retired from Fansteel VR/Wesson where he was a precision tool maker for many years. Armand enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the UCONN Huskies and also was a faithful blood donor at the American Red Cross. Most importantly, Armand was committed to being a loving husband, supportive father and wonderful grandfather to his five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Boislard, Janice (Vince) Jennetta and Diane Bennett; his grandchildren, Jocelyn Alia, Nathan Boislard, Meghan DeFilippo, Catie and Jack Jennetta and his great-grandchildren, Brayden, Avery, Hudson, Gemma, Ryder, Gavin and Charlee.
