Barry B. Fontaine

Barry B. Fontaine, 61, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.  He had been the loving husband and best friend of Cheryl Schilling Fontaine for 28 years.

Born on December 6, 1960 to the late Conrad and Rachel (Houghton) Fontaine, he had been a lifelong Southington resident.

Barry recently retired from the Southington Water Department after 38 years of service.  He loved doing anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and boating.

In addition to his wife Cheryl, he is survived by his two sons, Corey R. Fontaine and his wife Katherine of Berlin and Stephen A. Fontaine of Plainville. He also leaves behind two brothers, Conrad “Skip” Fontaine and his wife Cindy of Plainville, Greg Fontaine and his wife Lisa of VT and his sister, Lynne Breton and her husband Mark of OK. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Frank Schilling of Southington, and five brothers-in-law, Kenneth Schilling, Richard Schilling, Stephen Schilling, Dennis Schilling and his wife Lori, and Anthony Schilling and his wife Lori, all of Bristol, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Barry is predeceased by his brother, Bradley Fontaine, and mother-in-law Shirley Schilling.
