Beverly M. Wood

With heavy hearts, we announce that Beverly Wood passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 94 on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026. Beverly grew up in Bristol, Connecticut but called Southington her home for the last 60+ years of her life. She worked as a banker in her earlier days, but was able to spend her later years as a homemaker; a home she opened up to her daughter-in-law Darlene and 2 grandsons, Matthew and Stephen. Beverly had the kindest heart and was always known as the warmest presence in any given room; traits that she passed down to her family so that her light will continue to radiate.

Beverly was always a woman who prided herself on her independence, as even into her 90s she would try (and fail) to lobby to mow the lawn, but ultimately allowing either of her grandsons the privilege of taking that task from her. She would use that newly freed up time to crochet, as she ended up crafting countless wonderful afghans over the years that would then end up turning into the best birthday or Christmas gifts that person would receive all year. She also enjoyed her yearly casino trips during the Super Bowl with her daughter-in-law Darlene, trips that would routinely result in her being the only member of the group to come home a winner. Now, she is reunited with her husband Thomas J Wood Sr, and her dog, Winter.
