Carroll O. Mahaffy

Carroll O. Mahaffy, formerly of Southington, died on December 7, 2013 at Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden. He was born in Madison, Maine, on February 14, 1919, and was the last survivor of 17 children, born to the late Ola and James Mahaffy. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a bombardier who flew out of England with the 8th Army Air Force. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney for 25 years prior to his retirement and was a member of First Baptist Church in Southington for most of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Muriel, and his children: Gary and his wife, Shirley of Plainville, CT; C.J. and his wife Maggie, of Camarillo, CA; Laureen Fritz, of Southington; Philip, of Lansing, MI; and David and his wife, Cheryl, of Coarsegold, CA. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 581 Meriden Ave., Southington.
