Charlene M. McComb

Charlene M. (Dionne) McComb, 83, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her devoted family on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Autumn Lake Healthcare. She was the loving wife of the late Robert P. McComb Sr. for 52 years.

Charlene was born on June 26, 1940 in Madawaska, ME, one of nine children, to the late Medley and Doris (Gervais) Dionne. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Charlene was always there to help others and she knew what everyone needed at any time. She dedicated much of her life to raising her family, and then shared her talents at work as well. She was a dedicated and trusted employee for local businesses and spread her passion to help others wherever she went. She enjoyed music, baking and creating unbelievably magical memories with her granddaughters. The girls cherished the years they spent with their Mimi, and will spend their lifetime honoring all she taught them. Charlene will be remembered for her deep faith, love for her family, and her ability to find a way to be of service to others.

Charlene is survived by her children: Sandra Gallo, Ellen Delgado, and Robert McComb Jr, her beloved son-in-law Anthony (Ellen), and three cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Abigail and Emily, who were her absolute pride and joy. Charlene had a special place in her heart as a second mother for Melissa Golden and Ryan Scott, who she loved so much. She is also survived by many siblings, in-laws, and a large extended family, who she held dear.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlene’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) to support ongoing research and resources.

Funeral services will be celebrated privately. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
