Charles A. Pensarosa, 73, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his girls on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. He was the loving husband of Deborah (Santor) Pensarosa for 36 years.
Charlie was born on November 3, 1952, in Hartford, CT to the late Charles J. and Helena (King) Pensarosa. He graduated from Southington High School, Class of 1970, and went on to work as a letter carrier in Southington for 35 years. After retiring from the post office, he joined the Southington School District, working primarily as a sub custodian but serving various other roles throughout the school system. He was committed to supporting teachers, students, and staff – he truly enjoyed going to work every day.
Charlie loved fishing, boating, shooting pool, and spending time at his family’s summer camp in Stonington. He listened to many genres of music and was a true audiophile. Charlie loved to tinker, always following YouTube tutorials and experimenting with recipes, stereos, cars and anything mechanical. Charlie was a deep philosophical thinker and enjoyed reading, poetry, creative writing and listening to old time radio shows. He will be remembered for his big heart, love for family, and drive to help others.
In addition to his wife Debbie, Charlie is survived by two daughters, Alicia Pensarosa of Gloucester, MA and Norah Pensarosa, his sister, Carla Sheehan and her husband Dan of Plantsville and two nephews, Ryan Sheehan his partner Meagan, Justin Sheehan and his wife Sarah, and his niece Kristy (Sheehan) Jones and her husband Dave. He is also survived by many loving cousins, great cousins, nieces and nephews, dear friends, and his fat cat Wiggles.
