Charlotte P. (Abbate) Cole, 88, of Southington, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 27, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 20, 1937 to the late Salvatore and Bridget (Kelly) Abbate, she had been a longtime Southington resident.

Charlotte worked as a bartender at different establishments in Southington for 30 years. She also worked at Bradlees Department Store and then as the Assistant Kitchen Manager at the Calendar House for 12 years. Charlotte was a member of AARP, the Calendar House and loved to play Bingo. She was also a breast cancer survivor and supported Relay for Life as a member of “Jean’s Angels” for 11 years.

Charlotte is survived by five children; son, George Cole and his wife Ann of Westbrook, daughters; Desiree Snay and Chad Hunter of Southington, Tami Belden of Plainville, Robin Smith of Southington, Sharon Quirk and her husband Rick of Middlefield and special daughter, Lori Mabe of Louisiana, her son-in-law, Rome Wisniewski of New Britain, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Rosemary Pompei of Southington and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by two daughters, Brenda Cole and Sally Wisniewski, one granddaughter, Shawna Pinette, brother-in-law, Louis “Gigi” Pompei Jr. and her very dear friend, Chet Lubinski. Charlotte was the loving Godmother to Charlotte Wisniewski, Harley Cote and Samantha Smith.

Calling hours will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026 from the Plantsville Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Parish- St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Pallbearers: Christopher Belden, Michael Belden, Justin Smith, Andrew Smith, Mark Cole, Chad Hunter.
