Clifford J. Heisler, Jr., 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Joyce A. Heisler for 56 years.

Clifford was born in New Britain on October 7, 1941 to the late Clifford J. Sr. and Stella (Zysk) Heisler. He graduated from New Britain High School, Class of 1959, and went on to the Hartford Institute of Accounting, Class of 1961.

Cliff worked for Connecticut Bank & Trust Company for over 30 years and served as an officer. He retired from Cigna Insurance Company.

Cliff loved Hammonasset Beach where he grew up camping with his family and eventually shared his favorite spots with his own children. He also enjoyed playing tennis and UNO, was an avid bowler and a checkers champion.

Cliff was a truly great man, not only in the way he loved his family, but in the way he lived his life. He had strong character, led by example, and was loyal, reliable, generous, funny, and kind.

Cliff is survived by his son, Clifford Heisler, III and his wife Michelle of Wolcott and two daughters, Judy Emerson of Foxborough, MA and Jennifer Heisler Lavalley of Plymouth, MA and four grandchildren, Lillian Heisler, Ethan Emerson, Hayden Emerson and Alexanne Lavalley. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Heisler of Berlin, CT, sister, Kathy Petrichenko and her husband Paul of Cordova, MD and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife Joyce and his parents, Cliff was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Adams and her husband Robert, his sister-in-law Helena Heisler, wife of Thomas, his sister-in-law, Janet Heneghan and her husband, James “Doc,” and his in-laws, Elmer and Katherine Christensen.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cliff’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, (www.cancer.org).

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
