Conrad A. Gozzo, 94, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Judy Gozzo for over 57 years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, lived a full life of traveling, friendship, family and music.

 Conrad was born on August 26, 1931, in New Britain, CT to the late Anthony and Santina Gozzo. Starting at an early age and surrounded by a family of musicians, Conrad began studying the trumpet in grade school. As an early teen he began to perform with bands and in clubs throughout CT. 

Conrad then studied music composition at Boston University, earning a Master’s Degree in music composition and performance. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Stationed in Germany, Conrad performed throughout Europe with many different army bands. After serving his country, Conrad taught music throughout the Northeast and NY, finally settling in Southington, CT, where he spent over 30 years teaching at Southington High School, DePaolo Junior High and Flanders Elementary School.He also served as the conductor and musical director for the award-winning Men’s, Women’s and Mixed chorus at The Austrian Donau Club of New Britain, CT for over 45 years.

 In addition to his wife Judy, Conrad leaves behind his sons, Ronald and Anthony Gozzo, daughter, Sandra Tracey, daughter-in-law, Toni Gozzo and son-in-law, Paul Tracey, along with granddaughters, Izabella Gozzo, Cora Tracey and grandson, Rowan Tracey. Conrad leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and family traditions that will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A memorial service with military honors will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will private and at the convenience of the family.
