David A. Niezgorski, 76, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Morelli) Niezgorski for 54 years.
Dave was born on February 18, 1950 in Southington to the late Alex and Florence (Sokolowski) Niezgorski. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1969 and proudly served his country for almost 30 years, retiring as a Navy Seabee, Master Chief in 1995. After his retirement from the U.S. Navy, Dave worked in the building maintenance department at Cheshire Academy for 25 years, retiring in January 2020. He was member of the Southington Elks Lodge #1669 and the Italian Political Independent Club in Berlin. Above all else, Dave put his family first. He enjoyed gardening, stained glass, woodworking, making homemade beer and wine, hanging out with friends and family. He will be remembered for his unmistakable mustache, sense of humor, cooking and baking, unselfishness, fierce independence and willing to help anyone in need. Not to mention, his big Polish head.
In addition to his wife Pat, Dave is survived by two children, son, Matthew Niezgorski and his wife Nicole of Temecula, CA and daughter, Alisha “Katie” Bouchard and her husband Kevin of Berlin, CT, five grandchildren; Ashley Vail (Tom), Tyler Bouchard (Katy), Nicholas Niezgorski (Thanh), Karalee Davids (Jay) and Matthew Bouchard and two cherished great-grandchildren, Maverick and Adelaide. He is also survived by one sister, Kathy Larkin and her husband Brian of Southington and his three sidekicks, Giovanni, Lorenzo and Luigi. Dave was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Richard M. Niezgorski.

A public memorial service will be celebrated at 12 noon on Monday, June 15, 2026 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Private burial with military honors will follow at the State Veteran’s Cemetery, Middletown, 317 Bow Ln., Middletown, CT.
