David L. Perlot, 83, of Southington, CT passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 15, 2025. He was the loving husband of Joan (Bednarz) Perlot for over 60 blessed years.
Dave was born on August 6, 1942 in Meriden, CT to the late Leo and Stacia (Skawinski) Perlot. Throughout his life he valued the people he met and always enjoyed lively conversations. He proudly graduated in 1961 from Wilcox Technical School as a member of the Master Printers of America and the Printers Industry of CT. After retiring in 1996 as a printing manager at the Hemingway Corporation in Waterbury, he went on to work for the Southington Board of Education until retiring in 2003.
Dave joined the Southington Fire Department Engine Co. #1 in 1966 and served for almost 40 years. He was an active and dedicated volunteer who served as a Past Captain, Trustee, Treasurer, and Fire Police before retiring. He more recently volunteered for Southington C.E.R.T.
Dave was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men, Wonx Tribe #28 in Southington. He served in several positions to reach the level of Past Sachem. He moved on to the Great Council of Connecticut and became a Past Great Sachem. He was also a member of the Great Council of the U.S. and enjoyed traveling to Great Council sessions in other states.
Dave was a member of the Polish National Alliance Group #684 for many decades. He became president in 1996 and was currently still serving. In previous years, he participated in the Southington Bocce League and the Democratic Town Committee.
Dave loved his family with his whole heart. Joan’s constant love, support, and devotion were the foundation of their marriage for over 60 years. Rarely apart, they shared a life filled with cherished moments dancing to polkas and more recently attending community events such as the Music on the Green and bingo at the Calendar House. They took great pride in their three children, grandchildren, and extended families.
In addition to his beloved wife, Joan, he is survived by his son, Dave Perlot and wife Eileen; daughter, Chris Moses and husband David; son, Matt Perlot; and five loving grandchildren, Kayleigh and Abby Moses, and Dave, Patrick and Danny Perlot. He is also survived by two sisters, Debbie Corsetti and her husband Ange, and Dolores Miano, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Hall; brother, Don Perlot; sister-in-law, Peg Perlot; brother-in-law, Joe Miano; and niece, Kathy Hall.
