David Rivero

David Rivero, 65, of Southington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 25, 2026, after a short illness. David was the loving husband of Shawana A. (Burkhart) Rivero for 41 years.

David was born on October 18, 1960 in New Britain to Maria (Diaz) Rivero and the late Raul Rivero.

David had a dedicated career as a Master Automotive Technician for many years. He had a lifelong passion for cars and among his most cherished was his 1967 Camaro, SRT8, and Mercedes-Benz Maybach. He had a gift for music and loved creating playlists and being "DJ Dave " for all our Family gatherings. His Granddaughters will forever hold special memories of "Papa's dance parties." He will always be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and his deep pride in his country.

In addition to his wife, Shawana and his mother, Maria, David is survived by two daughters, Brooke Lordan and her husband Sean of Grafton, MA and Brittany Czerniewski and her husband Steven of Wallingford and four cherished granddaughters, Noelle, Chloe, Jolie and Mila. He is also survived by his sister, Miriam Rzepnicki and her husband Brian of FL, sister-in-law, Kellee Raymond and her husband Robert of Oklahoma and two nieces, Amanda Abram of Nebraska and Brynne Bastion of Texas. He is also survived by a large close extended family including aunts, uncles, and many loving cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026 at the Church of St. Dominics, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. There are no calling hours.
