Donald J. Bartley, 86, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Michaud) Bartley for over 40 years.
Donald was born on May 10, 1939 in Twin Rocks, Pennsylvania. He was a longtime parishioner at Mary Our Queen Church in Southington and worked as a supervisor at Pratt & Whitney, retiring after 39 ½ years of dedicated service. Donald was a member of the American Legion Post 72 and the Southington Sportsman Club. He enjoyed being outdoors; hiking in the mountains, snowmobiling, skiing and fishing. He was a talented woodworker who helped his daughter build her first house. who cherished his beloved dogs, Sassy and Chrissy, who were his faithful companions for many years.
In addition to his wife Irene, Donald is survived by four children, Tammy Thompson and Kenneth Knopf, Stanley V. Wilk III and wife Kathy, Irene Wilk, all of Southington. He will be missed by his many grandchildren including Amanda, John and Matthew Thompson, Alyx Wilk and Joey Dominello and his sister-in-law, Juliette Yudisky of Wolcott. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Carrie (Sheppard) Bartley and his best friend, Norman Michaud of Plantsville.
