Dora L. Mayette

Dora L. (Wight) Mayette, 69, of Southington, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 3, 2025 with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Stephen Mayette Sr. for 52 years.

Dora was born on March 28, 1956 in New Britain to the late Everette and Dorothy (Ouellet) Wight. She worked as a supervisor at Economy Spring & Stamping in Southington, retiring in 2021 after 43 years of service. Dora enjoyed camping, bowling and playing cards. Most of all, she loved her family and she was truly loved by all.

In addition to her husband Steve, Dora is survived by three children; son, Stephen Mayette Jr. and his wife Tracy of Portland, CT, son, Gary Mayette and his wife Melanie of Southington and daughter, Tina Landon and her husband Steve of Portland, CT and eight grandchildren; Derek, Crystal (Manny), Emily, Callie, Chloe, Austin, Madison and Alexis. She is also survived by two brothers, Kenny Wight and Brian Wight, five sisters, Donna Carrol, Linda Charette, Sandy Goff (John), Patricia Weichsel and Nancy Hodgkins (Jeffrey), one brother-in-law, Glen White and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dora was predeceased by four brothers-in-law, Richard “Dick” Carrol, Ronald Charette, Barry Weichsel and Donald Wight and two sisters, Laura White and Kathleen Wight.

Dora’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Carissa Monterroso for the incredible care provided and her constant compassion and also to Hartford Healthcare at Home for their support in her final days. They will be forever grateful.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 4 – 6 p.m. with Words of Remembrance at 6 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
