Douglas F. Angell, 91, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Masonicare in Wallingford. He had been the loving husband of the late Lois V. "Ginny" (Barnes) Angell for 62 years.

Douglas was born November 10, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, NY to the late Winfield and Mary (Forbes) Angell. He had been a longtime resident of Barkhamsted before retiring to Ocala, FL. He returned to Connecticut and spent 5 wonderful years residing at Mulberry Gardens.

Douglas proudly served his country in the U. S. Army in Europe during WWII. He worked at Pratt and Whitney as a shop foreman, retiring after 36 years of service.

He is survived by his son Glenn B. Angell and his wife Rose Marie of Whitefield, ME and daughter Deborah Boychuck and her husband Peter of Southington; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas and Terry Angell of Belleville, WI; Elizabeth and Jonathan Ostanek of Fairport, NY; Bonnie and Matt Plourde of Southington and Heidi and Randy Nielsen of Southington; 7 great-grandchildren: Jenna, Owen, Aiden, Caleb, Kyle, Rachel and Wade and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Virginia Conrad and brother Bruce Angell.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
