Edmund "Ed" B. Goggin, 82, a longtime resident of Southington, Connecticut, lost his battle with pulmonary fibrosis and passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and caregivers.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on July 23, 1943, Ed was the son of the late Margaret and Michael Goggin. He grew up in Waterbury and later made Southington his home for over 50 years.
On Sept 16, 1968, he married the love of his life, Mary (Byrne) Goggin, who predeceased him on July 21, 2022. Together they raised a family in Southington, creating countless cherished memories.
Ed was known for his quiet strength, dry sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. He enjoyed golf, tennis, UCONN basketball, and watching anyone beat the Yankees.
Ed is survived by his son, Christopher Goggin and his wife Hacah of Southington; his daughter-in-law, Julie Goggin of Pound Ridge, NY; his grandchildren, Evan and Charlie Goggin, Grace and Noah Boros; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his beloved wife Mary, he was predeceased by his son, David Goggin and brothers, Michael, John and Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Carolyn’s Place, 137 Grandview Ave, Waterbury, CT 06708 (https://carolynsplace.org/).
