Elaine Mae Glatz

May 25, 1969 — June 12, 2025

Southington, CT

Elaine Mae (Martin) Glatz, 56, of Southington, passed away after a short brave battle on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Hartford Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Chris J. Glatz and their daughter, Madison Mae Glatz, both of Southington. Elaine was born in New Britain, CT on May 25, 1969 and graduated from Southington High School, Class of 1987.

She worked at Super Suds Laundromat in Southington where she created many lasting friendships with her wonderful co-workers and customers. Elaine greeted everyone with a smile, a touch of sarcasm or one of her legendary one-liners, you already know… She will be remembered for her comic relief and for her rare gift of making everyone feel like they belonged, whether having a bad day or just needing a laugh. She was a true bright spot. Elaine loved animals and enjoyed doing puzzles. Her favorite pastime was spending time at her happy place with Chris and Madison at Markham Meadows Campground in E. Hampton with their campground family.

In addition to her husband Chris and daughter Madison, she is survived by two brothers, Mark Martin of Maine and Douglas Martin and his wife Kathy of Southington, many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Ethel. She was predeceased by her mother, Eva (Albert) Martin and her father, Clarence Martin.

To honor Elaine’s love of animals, donations in her memory may be made to the CT Humane Society (https://cthumane.org/).
