Ellen (Plotkin) Lasek, 77, of Southington, CT lost her 8-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at home with her husband by her side. She was the devoted wife of James J. Lasek.

Ellen was born on September 12, 1948, in Meriden, CT to the late Peter and Agnes B. (Ploszha) Plotkin.

She enjoyed tending to her garden and took great pride in caring for her beautiful flowers. She also loved to knit and making blankets for expectant mothers gave her great joy.

In addition to her husband Jim, Ellen is survived by her son, Craig Fletcher and his wife LeighAnn of Florida, also, Matthew Lasek and his wife Amy of Newington and Michael Lasek of Southington and four grandchildren; Connor, Colin, Emily andJacob. She is also survived by her sister in-law, Marie VanRooyen of Southington, brother-in-law, John Lasek of Florida and her cherished cat, Peanut.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
