Esther T. Utke

Esther T. (Miller) Utke, 76, of Southington, passed away unexepectedly on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Yale New Haven Medical Center. She was the loving wife of the late John “Phil” Utke for 42 years.

Esther was born on February 12, 1948 in New Britain to the late Donald and Arlene (Wilson) Miller. Esther retired from Macy’s where she worked in distribution for over 20 years. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures like sharing a good cup of coffee with friends, watching movies, listening to old music and driving in her car. She loved her family and especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. 

Esther is survived by three sons: Scott Utke and wife Aylin of Sudbury, MA, Shawn Utke and wife Ileana of Holliston, MA and Michael Utke and wife Cristina of Pepperell, MA and six grandchildren: Isabella, Evan, Mason, Logan, Ryker and Blaise. She is also survived by three siblings, Donald Miller and wife Bonnie of Cheshire, Patricia McCormack and husband Kirk of Plantsville and Daniel Miller and wife Cristy of Cheshire, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
