Eva Martin

Eva (Albert) Martin, 85, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024 at the CT Baptist Home in Meriden. 

Eva was born on June 30, 1939 in Fort Kent, Maine to the late Leo and Agnes (Hebert) Albert. She worked as a nurses aide at New Britain Hospital for many years and was a longtime member of Mary Our Queen Church in Plantsville. Eva enjoyed gardening and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. 

Eva is survived by 3 children, Mark Martin of Maine, Douglas Martin and his wife Kathy of Southington and Elaine Glatz and her husband Christopher of Southington, 11 grandchildren, Rebecca Muzyka (Justin), Brandon Martin, Collin Martin (Sarah), Stephanie Martin, Jeremiah Martin, Matthew Martin, Caleb Martin, Katelyn Martin, Madison Glatz and Chelsey Martin and 5 great-grandchildren, Collin Jr., Henry, Lucille, Peter and Richard. She is also survived by siblings Evelyn Martin, Gilman Albert (Carol), Cecile Gagne (Benoit), all of Southington, Patrick Albert, Louis Albert (Bernadette) of Maine, Roger Albert (Jayne) of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by one grandson, Kevin Martin and her brothers, Leonide, Lucien and Joel Albert. 

Eva’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staffs at both Mulberry Gardens and the CT Baptist Home for the kindness, compassion and excellent care they provided to her over the last few years. 

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
