Gerard A. Lapent

Gerard A. Lapent, 74, formerly of Southington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday November 24, 2011. He had been the loving husband of the late Agnes Peggy M. (Bellchamber) Lapent for 40 years.

Born in Hartford on November 18, 1938 to the late Nicholas V. and Mary Claire (Laviere) LaPenta, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

He was a former president of Consolidated Wall Covering and a member of St. Thomas Church for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Gerard is survived by 2 daughters: Lisa Lapent and her husband Bill Tumat of Rocky Hill and Melissa Lapent of Farmington; his brother F. Scott Lapent and wife Diane of Granby; his niece Kristine Lapent-Timothy of Bristol and his nephew Kenneth Lapent of Simsbury.

Family and friends may call at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville from 4-7pm on Tuesday November 29, 2011. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
