Ghislaine B. Donna

Ghislaine (Brousseau) Donna, 80, of Plantsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Alzheimer's Resource Center of Connecticut. She was the best friend and loving wife of Robert Archie Donna with whom she shared 59 years of love and marriage.

Born on March 17, 1934 in St. Camille, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Lydia (Couture) Brousseau. Ghislaine was born and raised in Canada, coming to the U.S. in her late teens where she met and married her husband Bob. They had six children, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was the most important thing to her. She was an exceptional cook, baker, and gardener, and was happiest being with the children. She was a loving and caring spirit and her family and all those who knew her will miss her dearly.

Besides her beloved husband Robert, she leaves her children David R. Donna of Plantsville, CT; Robert P. Donna and his wife Laura of Granby, CT; Carol Donna Ouellette and her husband Bob of Plantsville, CT; Brian W. Donna and his wife Elise of Cheshire, CT; Elaine Donna Barnes and her husband Christopher of Tolland, CT; and Michelle Donna McCallum of Southington, CT; her grandchildren Melissa M. Hayes and her husband Jesse; David A. and Brian J. Donna; Joshua and Logan Barnes; Renee and Ethan Donna; and her great-grandchildren Allison, Caroline, and Anderson Hayes. She also leaves her siblings Robert Brousseau of Plainville; Germain Brousseau and wife Carleen of Plainville; Camillien Brousseau and wife Marie-Paule of New Britain; Clement Brousseau and wife Alice of Plainville; sister-in-laws Lucille Brousseau of Plainville and Marielle Brousseau of Florida; and brother-in-law Roger Binette of Plainville, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Benoit, Majella, and Paul Brousseau and five sisters Aimee Rose Binette, Gertrude Huot, Marie Caron, Ann Gaumond, and Jeanne Brousseau. The family of Ghislaine would like to express special thanks to the staff at the Alzheimer's Resource Center of Connecticut for the loving care they've given to Ghislaine. She made many new friends with members of the staff, always smiling for them and thankful for the assistance they provided her.

A celebration of Ghislaine's life will be held with a Mass of Christian Services on Monday, December 29, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville, CT. Family and friends may gather on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m. at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 South Main St, Plantsville, CT. Family and friends may gather on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m. at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 South Main St, Plantsville, CT.
