Henry A. Bajek

Henry (Hank) Bajek passed away quietly at home with his wife Elizabeth by his side on June 16, 2026.

Hank was born in New Britain on January 6, 1937, to the late Albert and Helen (Rapacki) Bajek.

A lifelong resident of Southington, he held a deep love for his hometown. Henry proudly served his country in the National Guard. For more than 30 years, he owned and operated New England Automatic Transmission in New Britain, where he built many lasting friendships. He later spent over 25 years at Home Depot in Southington, a place he genuinely enjoyed—working hard, socializing with coworkers, and sharing his trademark pranks. Hank had a wonderful sense of humor and never passed up the chance for a good laugh.

He loved spending time at Foxwoods, especially playing his favorite slot machine and attending shows. A devoted men’s and women’s UCONN Huskies basketball fan, his world revolved around game schedules during basketball season.

Hank is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bryant who’s been by his side for 26 years, her sons, Jared (Samantha) Bryant and Robbie Bryant (Kim), his son, Jeffrey (Susanne) Bajek of Florida and his daughter, Suzanne Bajek (Barry). He is also survived by two cousins, Joey & Ricky Rapacki and his toy poodle, Midnight.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the Hospice staff, especially Lorraine, who helped him navigate his final journey.
