Ivan A. Menard

Ivan A. Menard, 90, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Southington Care Center. He had been the loving husband of the late Marjorie (McKay) Menard for 50 years.

Born in Hardwick, VT on November 14, 1932 to the late George and Diana (Boulais) Menard, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Ivan worked as a machinist for most of his life. He enjoyed nature and was an avid gardener. Most of all, Ivan loved his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Ivan is survived by 7 children; Sandra Snow and her husband David of Plantsville, Jean Dorrell and her husband Gregory of Brookfield, Arthur Menard and his wife Gloria of Clarendon, VT, Ivan Menard and his wife Darlene of Bristol, Gary Menard and his wife Marzanna of Southington, Wayne Menard and his wife Tina of Prospect and Ronnie Menard and his wife Margaret of Southington, 10 grandchildren; Ryan Snow (Jennifer), Jennifer Noss (Jonathan), Kristen Dorrell Hill (Andrew), Linda Young (William), Michael Menard (Michelle), Edward Menard (Stephanie) Cheryl Sarty (Kyle), Alex Menard, Andrew Menard and James Menard and 6 great-grandchildren; Wyatt, Oscar, Zoe, Edith, Emily and Evan. He is also survived by 5 siblings, Marcelle Houde, Cecile Valcour, Marie Yaeger, Lionel Menard and Therese Ferguson (John), his sister-in-law, Audrey “Jean” McKay and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Marge, he was predeceased by siblings, John Menard, Denise Bushey, Marthe Valcour, Arthur Menard, Armand Menard, Leo Menard and an infant brother, Guy Menard.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
