Jacquelyn C. Hetzler, 88, of Southington, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Born in Hartford, CT on May 13, 1938, she was one of two children born to the late George and Bessie (Moyle) Brouillard. After settling in Plantsville, Jacque was a bus driver for many years and very much enjoyed driving her students. Recounting the good ole days, driving the bus with manual transmission and no power steering, she was “strong like bull.” After she gave up the bus, she joined the insurance industry where she worked until her retirement to spend time with her Mom and support her husband, Dick, with the family pool business
Jacque will be remembered for her unconditional love and willingness to help others, providing love and being the moral compass for her children and being the “go to” Mom as a sounding board and gentle guide for all of their friends. Once settled in Plantsville, Jacque became a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Southington, regularly assisting with service preparation and coffee hour clean up. She was a part of the Ladies Guild until her health no longer allowed her to attend the services just a few short years ago.
She leaves behind her two children, Pam (David) Gendreau and Dan (Donna) Hetzler; six grandchildren; Grace, Amy (Sean), Derek (Anna), JoAnna, Monique (Paul) and Autumn and two great-grandchildren, Lucian and Zoë. She also leaves behind her brother, Rob Brouillard, and his children.
Jacque was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dick Hetzler, her much loved sons, Rick and John Hetzler, her cherished grandson, Richie Hetzler and sister-in-law, Kaarin Brouillard.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacque’s memory may be made to the First Lutheran Church, 232 Bristol St., Southington, CT 06489.
