James “Jim” V. Kalamajka, 81, of Southington, CT, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at HOCC at New Britain. He was the loving husband of Cheryl (Wilson) Kalamajka for 51 years.
Jim was born on June 29, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Stanley and Margaret (Hunter) Kalamajka and had been a longtime Southington resident.
Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Northern Michigan University. Jim retired from Eversource after 24 years of service. After a very short retirement, he founded Connecticut Energy Resources, LLC. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and rooting for the Detroit Tigers.
In addition to his wife Cheryl, Jim is survived by 3 children: Jason Kalamajka, Scott Kalamajka and wife Kelly and Kristin Kalamajka and Michael, and 4 grandchildren: Kayla, Pierce, Carter and Ronin. He is also survived by 4 siblings: Helen, Carol, Larry and Joseph, his sister-in-law, Lori White and her husband Keith and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his grandson, Jack and 2 sisters, Mary and Kathy.
