Jason R. Vaillancourt

October 1, 1973 — June 12, 2025

Southington, CT

Jason “Jay” Romeo Vaillancourt, 51, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous two-year, six-and-a-half-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jay was born on October 1, 1973 in New Britain, CT to the late Romeo and Minnie Vaillancourt. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and son-in-law.

On May 30, 1998, Jay married the love of his life, Kimberly (Thompson) Vaillancourt. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three cherished children, Makayla, Mychele and Justin. Jay’s family was his world. He found joy in home improvement projects that made life easier and more comfortable for those he loved. His heart and hands were always at work, making sure everyone was cared for.

Known for his generosity, Jay never hesitated to help friends or neighbors in need. He gave selflessly, always offering his time, skills and support, without expecting anything in return.

Jay worked for over 25 years at Town Fair Tire where he was known for his unmatched work ethic and dedication. Even after his cancer diagnosis in November of 2022, he continued to work as long as he was able, approaching every task with passion and determination.

In his free time, Jay found happiness in the great outdoors. Whether camping with family, vacationing on an island or visiting Disney, his favorite getaway, these moments brought him the greatest joy. Jay was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer with liver metastasis on November 25, 2022. Though given a six-month prognosis, Jay defied the odds and fought valiantly for over two-and-a-half years. A true family man, he insisted on sharing the news with his loved ones personally, because being with family always came first.

Jay is survived by his beloved wife Kimberly; his children Makayla, Mychele and Justin, his adored grandchildren, Annasun, Maximus and Evangeline, his sister, Dee (Pond), his niece, April (Ducott), his nephew, Eric (Pond), his mother-in-law, Barbara, his father-in-law, Eugene, and many dear friends he considered family.

Jay will be remembered for his strength, kindness and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jay’s memory may be made to Project Purple (https://www.projectpurple.org/).
