Jean Keir

Jean Keir, 90, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Southington Care Center.

Jean was born on December 14, 1926 in Lynn, MA to the late James and Mary (Tyrie) Keir and had been a longtime Southington resident. She worked as an underwriter at The Hartford, retiring after 25 years of service.

Jean is survived by her nephew, James Hennessey of Southington and niece, Joan Irwin and her husband Todd of Georgia, VT; one great-niece, Katie Hennessey McDonald and her husband Ryan; two great-nephews, Matthew Hennessey and Michael Irwin and his wife, Katelyn; and her great-grand nieces and nephews; Brody, Ashton, Quinlynn, Isaac and Silas. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Hennessey.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the First Congregational Church, 37 Main St., Southington, CT 06489.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb 27, 2017 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Burial will be held privately in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
