Jeffery C. Brayfield, 59, of Colchester and former longtime Southington resident, passed away suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by his family close by, on August 2, 2023 at Backus Hospital in Norwich, after a recent cancer diagnosis. He was the loving husband and best friend of Cheryl A. (Barron) Brayfield for 32 years.
Jeffery was born on June 5, 1964 in Waterbury and graduated from Southington High School, Class of 1982. He worked as an HVAC technician for nearly his entire life, starting at B & S Sheetmetal as a young kid and working at Plimpton & Hills Corp. for the last several years. Jeff was a man who loved his toys. He was a car enthusiast and loved riding motorcycles. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed the outdoors; boating, snowmobiling and especially spending time at his camp in New Hampshire. Jeff had countless friends and will be missed by so many whose lives he touched.
In addition to his wife Cheryl, Jeff is survived by his parents, Patricia (Laviana) Ferguson of Waterbury and Christian Brayfield and wife Rita of Plantsville, one son, Corey Keyworth of Berlin, his beloved dog, Sofi and 2 grandchildren, Emma Woodward and Mia Keyworth. He is also survived by his sister, Robyn Iverson and husband Bruce of Southington, nephew, Christopher Iverson of Southington and niece, Kathryn Twigg and husband Samuel of Rocky Hill; his siblings and their families, Carolyn Ferguson, Christine Fanciullo and Timothy Brayfield, all of MA, his brother-in-law, Bucky Barron and wife Karen, Pete and Trina Waterman and Russell Barron, all of ME, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by an infant sister, Mary Brayfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Southington. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held before the Mass from 8:30 a.m. – 10: 30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
