Joanne Skurat

Joanne Skurat, 69, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Apple Rehab in Plainville. 

Joanne was born on November 29, 1954 in Ansonia, CT to the late Michael D. and Joanne V. (Brennan) Skurat and had been a longtime Southington resident.

Joanne worked as a paraprofessional at DePaolo Middle School for many years. She enjoyed baking cookies and cooking around the holidays for family and friends. Joanne loved her family and was thankful for the opportunity to raise her granddaughters as if they were her own daughters. 

She is survived by her two cherished granddaughters, Brianna and Jocelyn Skurat, her son, Christopher Mills and grandchildren, Juliet and Jacob Sumner.  In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her beloved son, Scott Mills.
