John S. Nicosia Jr., 78, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 6, 2025, after a short illness. He was the loving husband of Karen (Piangozza) Nicosia for 52 years.

John was born on September 4, 1947, in New Britain, CT to the late John S. Nicosia Sr. and Mary (Andreoni) Nicosia. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Unionville.

John worked as an electrical engineer for Eversource, retiring after 35 years of service. He loved to travel and take his boat out on the Connecticut River. He was also a longtime member of the Pattaconk Yacht Club in Chester.

In addition to his wife Karen, John is survived by one son, Jason Nicosia and his wife Melissa of Mansfield and three brothers, Michael Nicosia, Robert Nicosia and Gregory Nicosia and his wife Tamara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Ann Church, 47 Clark St., New Britain, CT. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at church. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
