John "Jack" J. Pastor

John "Jack" J. Pastor, 78, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 at HCC at New Britain General. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Budrow) Pastor for 34 years.

Born June 24, 1937 in Pissaic, New Jersey to the late John J. Pastor Sr. and Evelyn (Hughes) Pastor, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Jack retired from Stanley Tools after 42 years of service. He was a proud member of the National Guard. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, deer watching and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and could fix anything and everything with duct tape. Jack loved joking with his family and friends and was always there to help out anyone in need. Jack was never without his orange hat in the winter or his bandana in the summer. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by four children: his son Angel Pastor and Laura of New Britain; his son Jay Pastor and his fiancé© Courtney Willocks of Meriden his daughter April Ruth Pastor of Southington and his daughter Linda Palmieri and her husband Frank of Southington and 9 grandchildren: Shannon, Frank, Kimberly (Spiffy), Frank, Ciera, Douglas, Aidan, Mya and Jaxson, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Evelyn Drogosek, his brother Thomas Pastor and his wife Mary, all of Southington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Ruth Ann Pastor, his nephew John T. Pastor and his step-parents.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 750 Meriden Waterbury Tpke, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 6 - 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
