Joseph Sabino

Joseph Sabino, 73, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Southington Care Center. He was the loving husband of the late Teresa (Vecchio) Sabino for 52 years and a loving father and grandfather.

Joseph was born on January 31, 1950 in Treglia, Italy to the late Gaetano and Maria (Ragozzino) Sabino.

He is survived by his son, Gaetano Sabino and his wife Andrea of Southington and 2 daughters; Maria Teresa Gagnon and her husband Todd of Bristol and Silvia Daddona and her husband Rick of Southington and 7 grandchildren; Breanna and her fiancé Austen, Nicholas, Alexa, Joseph, Tommy, Emma and Jack. He is also survived by his sister, Teresa Vecchio, his brother John Sabino and his wife Cindy, two sisters-in-law, Maria DiChello and her husband Pasqual and Maria Vecchio, all of Southington, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Teresa, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Vecchio. 

Alongside his wife Teresa, Joseph co-owned and operated Teresa’s Pizza in Southington for over 20 years and Sabino’s Restaurant in Bristol for 20 years.

Joseph’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Southington Care Center for their kindness and the wonderful care they provided.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at St. Dominic's Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.   Calling hours will be held before the service from 8 a.m. – 10: 00 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
