Joseph M. Stankoski, 90, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Riverbend in Farmington. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara L. (Fraser) Stankoski for 66 years.

Joseph was born on March 29, 1935 in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania to the late Matthew and Helen (Yourko) Stankoski. He earned his degree in Engineering from the General Motors School of Engineering and worked as a Quality Engineer for New Departure, Pratt & Whitney and eventually retired from Northeast Utilities in 1991. He had a lifelong passion for learning and teaching, especially in the subjects of Math and Physics. In his free time, he volunteered as a tutor at Quinnipiac University for many years. Joseph enjoyed being outdoors; hiking, walking, gardening and playing tennis. He had a deep appreciation for nature and caring for the planet and was committed to recycling from a young age. Joseph will be remembered for his strong work ethic and always taking care of his family.

Joseph is survived by two sons, Joseph Sterling and his wife Jeanette, Michael Sterling and his wife Iris, both of Southington; and one daughter, Elizabeth Ali of California; grandchildren: Alexandria, Ramsey, Jessenia, Juliana, Jamillet and Natasha; and great-grandchildren: Ava, Amelie, Isa, Zara, Cody and Josiah. He is also survived by his brother, John Stankoski and wife Brenda of FL and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Barbara, Joseph was predeceased by his daughter, Catherine Mary Stankoski; one brother, Matthew Stankoski and three sisters, Irene, Mary Ann and Rita.
