Joseph John Tabellione, 82, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was the loving husband of Jean A. (Rosevear) Tabellione for 56 blessed years.
Joseph was born in New Britain on December 21, 1942 to the late Renaldo J. and Serafina (Buscemi) Tabellione.
He graduated from Goodwin Technical High School, where he played varsity baseball and basketball, Class of 1960, and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Delta.
Joe and Jean owned and operated Central Press Inc. for 29 years in Southington. He was an avid volunteer and active member of the Plantsville Congregational United Church of Christ for over 30 years, where he served as a Deacon and a Trustee. He was also a member of the Southington Jaycees, coached his kids in youth sports and loved to follow his grandkids in their sports and recreational endeavors. He was an active member of the Southington Y, and was part of the AH associates run club for decades. Joe enjoyed gardening and rooting for the NY Yankees.
In addition to his wife Jean, Joe is survived by one son, Kevin Tabellione and wife Cheryl of Glastonbury, two daughters, Kathryn Tabellione and husband Robert Lamour of Plainville and Rebecca Ehrlich of Massachusetts. Joe has five cherished grandchildren; Zachary, Bella, Avery, Morgan and Hunter. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Wasilonski and her husband Roger of Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to Plantsville Congregational United Church of Christ, 109 Church St. Plantsville, CT 06479.
A memorial service with military honors will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9 -10:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
