Kathleen Hennessey MacDonald

Kathleen A. Hennessey MacDonald, 42, of Southington, CT, passed away after an illness on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the HOCC at New Britain. She was the proud mother of three cherished children, Brody, Quinlyn and Ashton.

Kate was born on July 6, 1983 in New Britain to the late James and Elizabeth (Chubet) Hennessey. She graduated from Southington High School, Class of 2001 and was very athletic and in her youth; excelling at basketball, softball and running. She also was an avid UCONN Basketball fan. Kate loved being a Mom and was happiest watching her kids grow and do the things they enjoy.

In addition to her three children, she is survived by one brother, Matthew Hennessey of Plainville and a large loving extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents, Kate was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Hennessey and maternal grandparents, Edward and Florence Chubet.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
