Keith S. Wernicki

Keith (Shaw) Wernicki, 91, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at HOCC at New Britain. She had been the wife of the late Henry C. Wernicki, the love of her life, who predeceased her in 1982.

Keith was born on July 24, 1931 in Waterbury to the late Herbert Sr. and Edna (Sumner) Shaw. She grew up in the Shaw’s Hill neighborhood of Oakville and graduated from Watertown High School.

Keith was a longtime active member of the Plantsville Congregational Church where she served on the Board of Deacons. She always made family a priority with family gatherings throughout the year. She was an excellent homemaker, with a knack for baking and cooking homemade meals from scratch. She was also an avid fan of the UConn Men’s Basketball team and enjoyed
 vacationing with family in Cape Cod. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with her group of friends from the church, bingo, and the YMCA. Most of all, she loved spending time with her 3 daughters and her grandchildren.

Keith is survived by 3 daughters; Diane Raczynski, Marcia Landrie, and Joyce Klinzmann, all of Southington, 6 grandchildren; Ashley Cunningham and her husband Josh, Michael Raczynski, Alyssa and Joseph Landrie and Alex and Ryan Klinzmann and one cherished great-grandson, Colton. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Betty Wernicki of Southington and Beverly
Freeman of FL and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Henry, Keith was predeceased by 2 brothers, Herbert Shaw Jr. and his wife Beulah and David Shaw, as well as her brother-in-law, Chester Wernicki.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
