Lawrence E. Marshall

Lawrence Edward Marshall, 88, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2025 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He was born on May 14, 1937 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of the late Harold and Olive (Cross) Marshall. He was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester, Massachusetts and served three years in the U.S. Army stationed in Ft. Hood, Texas. In 1962, he met the love of his life Beverly and married her two years later.

Upon his discharge from the Army, Larry worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a machinist and later at Eastern Tool and Die as a foreman/machinist until his retirement. He was a devout member of First Lutheran Church where he served on multiple committees, was a Sunday school teacher and a former council president of the church.

One of his greatest joys in life was being a grandfather. He was so proud to attend dance recitals, softball/baseball/football games and graduations. In his spare time, Larry liked to keep himself busy fishing, skiing, playing golf, woodworking and was a member of a duck pin bowling league. He was an avid cribbage player and looked forward to his games with his buddy Dave. Many lasting memories were made traveling with his wife and best friends, Dave and Barbara, over the years. Larry’s favorite memory was traveling to the family farm in Nova Scotia every summer as a child which continued throughout his adult life.

He is survived by his loving wife Beverly of 60 years, daughter, Diane and son-in-law, James, son, Kevin and daughter-in-law Angie, four grandchildren, Timothy, Erik, Nicole and Matthew, his brother, Ronald and sister-in-law, Margie, brother-in-law, David, as well as several nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by his sister, Nita.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to First Lutheran Church, 232 Bristol St., Southington, CT 06489.
