Lola Eigen

Lola (Asen) Eigen, 96, of Newtown, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Masonicare at Newtown. She had been the loving wife of the late Herbert Eigen for 62 years.

Born July 8, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Nathan and Fannie (Kroten) Asen, Lola had been a longtime Newtown resident.

Mrs. Eigen worked as a librarian in the Brooklyn Public Library for 20 years. She was a member and officer in "Women's Strike for Peace" in the 60's and a longtime activist in peace movements.

She is survived by two sons: Richard Eigen and his wife Anne of Sandy Hook and Dennis Eigen and his wife Priscilla of Newburyport, MA; 5 grandchildren: Mike, Melissa, Josh, Shana and Sarah; 7 great-grandchildren: Max, Oliver, Gabrielle, Eli, Elise, Brady and Lola. She was predeceased by her brother Fred Asen.
