Margaret “Peg” J. (Blubaugh) Westover, 79, of Southington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, July 11, 2026. She was the devoted wife of John A. Westover, with whom she shared nearly 34 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on October 20, 1946, in Frostburg, Maryland, Peg was the daughter of the late Charles “Lee” and Marie “Elaine” (Kear) Blubaugh.
Peg found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was avid reader and enjoyed weekly craft nights with family and friends for many years. She loved country music, collecting owls, watching her favorite soap operas, and spending time with family and friends. Peg also loved traveling with John, and together they embarked on two memorable cross-country road trips across the United States. They shared not only a loving marriage but also a deep friendship. Above all else, Peg cherished the time she spent with her family.
In addition to her husband, John, Peg is survived by her four children: Lisa Bugryn and her husband, James, Julie Desimini, both of Bristol; Lorna Garney and her husband, Wesley, of Wallingford; and John Westover and his wife, Monica, of Terryville. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Sarah Newton and her husband, Kevin; Alexa Bugryn; and Nicole Westover; a beautiful great-granddaughter, Josephine Mae; her sister, Barbara Wallick of Bristol; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Peg was predeceased by her son-in-law, Carmine Desimini.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/).
