Marion W. Gionfriddo

Marion (Wright) Gionfriddo, 82, of Southington, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at HOCC at Bradley. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Gionfriddo for 33 years.

Marion was born in New Britain on October 4, 1941 to the late Ernest and Anna Marie (DiCaprio) Wright and had been a longtime Southington resident.

Marion graduated from Southington High School, Class of 1959 and worked at Towne Dry Cleaners. She retired from New Britain General Hospital, where she was a histology technician for many years. Marion was a faithful parishioner at St. Thomas Church in Southington and started serving as a Eucharistic Minister in 1999. She was still very active in St. Luke’s Parish, currently teaching CCD classes and was fondly referred to as “Mrs. G.” in her First Holy Communion classes. Marion loved her family and friends and served the Lord through taking care of others. She volunteered at hospitals and nursing homes, making many visits with her faithful dog Wally by her side. She leaves a legacy of faith, family, and friendship in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Marion is survived by three brothers, Rev. Thomas Wright of Westborough, MA, John Wright and wife Marie of Olympia, WA and Ernest Wright and wife Rosemary of Port Orange, FL. She is also survived by many cousins, beloved nieces and nephews, dear friends and cherished furry friends that she loved caring for, especially Hank, who spent a lot of time keeping her company. In addition to her parents and her husband Bob, Marion was predeceased by her brother, Robert Wright.
