Mary B. Goggin

Mary (Byrne) Goggin, 77, of Southington, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at HOCC New Britain General. She had been the loving wife of Edmond Goggin for 54 years.

Mary was born in Derby, CT on December 23, 1944 to the late Charles and Margaret Byrne. She graduated from Central Connecticut State University and earned her bachelor’s degree. Mary worked as a social worker for the State of CT and retired from Connecticut Community Care, where she took great pride in serving the elderly. Mary was a devoted Catholic woman. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Thomas Church and then Mary Our Queen Church in Southington, where she took part in the Eucharistic Adoration and Prayer and led the Miraculous Medal Novena prayer group. Mary was a pro-life prayer warrior and committed to her faith and family.

In addition to her husband Ed, Mary is survived by her son Christopher Goggin and his wife Hacah of Southington, daughter-in-law, Julie Goggin of Pound Ridge, NY, 4 grandchildren, Charles and Evan Goggin and Grace and Noah Boros and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David Goggin and sister, Cealaig B. O’Clisham.

 Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday July 25, 2022 from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville, with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St, Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
