Mary Jane (Bickerdike) Sullivan, 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday July 25, 2019 at HOCC of New Britain. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene T. Sullivan Sr. for 57 years.
Born in Waterbury, CT on July 23, 1935 to the late John Bickerdike and late Margaret Mahan, she grew up in Naugatuck and graduated from Sacred Heart High school. She was a longtime Southington resident.
Mary Jane was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Hartford and worked as a registered nurse for many years. She was very proud of her profession and enjoyed delivering patient care. She will be remembered as a dedicated nurse who participated in the Project One Educational Series to provide exceptional care to cancer patients.
Mary Jane will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her children, Dr. Joan Palladino of Watertown, Tim Sullivan and his wife Christi of Berlin, Cathy Lawrence and her husband Milt of West Hartford, Peg Ober and her husband Steve of Weston, MA, Mary Oliviera and her husband Mario of Medford, MA, and Ann Marie Sullivan of Plantsville and her fiancée Pete Doyle of Prospect. She also leaves ten grandchildren, Marie Butterly and her husband Rory, Larry Palladino, Casey, Ali and Sean Sullivan, Katie and Megan DeLucco, Grace Lawrence, Sarah and Jessica Ober, 2 great-grandchildren, Jack and Brody Butterly. She also leaves her brother -in -law, James Sullivan and his wife Jane and her sister- in-law Maureen Kerrigan and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
