Muriel G. Hills

Muriel G. Hills, 98, of Bristol, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Ingraham Manor. She was the loving wife of the late Allan “Bunker” Hills.

Muriel was born in St. Hycinthe, Canada on March 10, 1927, oldest daughter to the late Derrick and Bertha (Racine) Girouard.

She attended St. Ann’s School in Bristol and was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She worked for the Wallace Barnes in Bristol and retired after 47 years of dedicated service. Muriel enjoyed playing Bingo, cards and shopping. She was ahead of her times with her style and was always a fashionable dresser. Most of all, Muriel loved spending time with her family, especially traveling with her sisters and supporting their growing families.

In addition to her husband, Muriel was predeceased by all four of her siblings; Monique Tyndall (Joseph), Frances Hogan, John Girouard (Fran) and Jacqueline Trella (Ted). She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their loving families.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
