Nicholas S. Rawling, 33, of Southington, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Nick was born in April of 1993 to Susan R. Rawling and the late Edwin D. Rawling, III.
Nick graduated from Wilcox Technical High School’s culinary program and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design and Development from DeVry University. Nick was very creative and a talented artist who had recently begun drawing again. He also loved music and was gifted with a wonderful singing voice. His vast knowledge of video games and ability to adapt to different consoles gave him great joy, but he also enjoyed bowling strikes at the local bowling alley and playing arcade games. Nick loved all animals but especially dogs, and always dreamed of adopting a Corgi.
He will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor, incredible comedic timing, and his contagious, booming full body laugh. Nick was a caring, compassionate soul who was always there for others. He gave the best hugs, and did an absolutely amazing impersonation of Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. He is, and will remain, deeply missed.
In addition to his mother Sue, Nick is survived by two siblings, his brother, Bill Morris and his wife Jen of Southbury and his sister, Sheila Rawling of Southington, his grandmother, Avis King of Southington, one nephew, Shawn Morris of Norwalk, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as countless friends around the world. Nick was predeceased by several loved ones including his father, Ed, and his family is taking comfort from imagining him reunited with those who passed before him.
To honor Nick’s love for animals, memorial donations may be made to any animal charity of the donor’s choice. The family will hold a Celebration of Life privately. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
