Paula Pacyna, 83, of the Plantsville section of Southington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026 with her family by her side.
Born on February 8, 1943, in New Britain, Connecticut, Paula was the daughter of the late John J. Pacyna and Freida (Miller) Pacyna.
Throughout her life, Paula worked in a cabinet factory and later at a nursing home, where her natural compassion and willingness to care for others shone through. Helping others was not simply something Paula did; it was part of who she was.
Paula found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved the color purple, football, NASCAR, dancing, sewing, and spending time with her beloved grand-dog Kash. Above all, she treasured her family and the moments they shared together. She especially cherished time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories.
Paula is survived by her two children, Lynn Seaburgh (Jim), of Little River, South Carolina, and Roger Seaburgh(Cathy), of Plantsville, Connecticut; her three grandchildren, Samantha Creighton (Jeff), of East Hampton, Connecticut, Kyle Stoddard (Trish), of Bristol, Connecticut, and Tyler Seaburgh (Brianna), of Plantsville, Connecticut. She also leaves behind her four siblings, Sandy Danko of Plantsville, Connecticut, Joe Pacyna (Cheryl), of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Karen Shookus (Steve), of Newington, Connecticut, and Debbie Joraskie (Ron), of South Carolina, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Paula was predeceased by her brother, Bruce Pacyna, and her brother-in-law, Rich Danko.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Brenda Lopes (Joe and puppies) for her unwavering love, support, and advocacy for Paula throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Her kindness, dedication, and willingness to help brought comfort and peace of mind to Paula and her family during a difficult time. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the compassionate hospice care team at Lower Cape Fear, especially her nurse, Mary, for the exceptional care, gentleness, and dignity shown to Paula during her final days. Their kindness and compassion will forever be remembered and deeply appreciated.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula's memory may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org/).
