Peter Joseph Narus, 94, of Southington, beloved husband, father and grandfather, entered heaven on Thursday, July 1, 2021. He was born in N. Chelmsford, MA on November 13, 1926, son of the late Peter George and Yadviga (Podzis) Narus.
As a young man, Peter enjoyed playing sports, excelling at baseball, football and ice hockey. At Northeastern University, he excelled academically in Engineering. Peter relocated to Connecticut and began his career at New Britain Machine where he met his future wife, Patty Collins, who worked in the same office. Peter and Patty bought a home in Southington where they raised their children. The family spent many summers in Cape Cod, MA, making friends and memories.
Peter was a Knights of Columbus member and also a Saint Dominic parishioner for over 50 years. He had served on the first Parish Council and worked on preliminary school planning, fundraising and church construction planning. Peter also served as a lector and volunteered at blood drives and Bread for Life. He was a Red Sox fan and Patriot fan. He also enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles.
In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, Rosemary Patricia (Collins) Narus, Peter is survived by their children; Peter John, Paul (Michelle), Chris (Lorella) and Jennifer. Peter also leaves his cherished grandson, Andrew, who was his best friend. He is survived by his brother, Albert and was predeceased by his siblings, Angela Toffin and Genevieve. His presence in the lives of his family will be sorely missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders St, Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the Mass from 9 – 10 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville.
